How competitive is the application for HSRC?

Competitive but not ridiculously competitive. We’re looking for students who participate in science extracurricular activities, demonstrate an active willingness to learn, or have a special passion for the sciences. The goal of HSRC is to open you up to new opportunities so that moving forward, you can become more involved with scientific research.

Do I need prior research experience?

No! HSRC is for students with research experience and students without research experience alike. All that you need is an open mind, a sincere passion for science, and a genuine desire to learn. You will also, notably, not be disadvantaged in the application process in any way if you have not had prior research experience.
